Tunisia .. Night protests after the death of a young man while he escaped from the police

The death of a young guy, who claimed that he was killed as a result of his violence against the police, sparked nighttime protests on Friday, and Tunisian security forces used gas canisters to disperse the crowd.

A month after being hospitalised, a 17-year-old man passed away from his wounds. There have been conflicting reports regarding the circumstances of his death, with some claiming that the security forces beat him while others have attributed it to his falling while attempting to climb a wall to escape the police.
Additionally, the demonstrators claimed that the police killed him on purpose, but it was unable to get a response from the interior ministry.

The announcement of his passing caused significant congestion in his neighbourhood of Al-Tadamun and the nearby areas of Tunis, the capital, where violent clashes broke out between the demonstrators and the security forces.

While the angry protesters burned the rubber wheels and closed the roads and threw stones at the police, according to eyewitnesses, and showed him circulating videos on social media, a situation that prompted the police that spread the place to control security, to the use of tear gas, to disperse them.
The demonstrators demand that individuals responsible for the young man’s death be looked into, put on leave, held accountable, and charged with murder intentionally.
