Sameh Shoukry: I discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam file

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry acknowledged that he spoke with the Indian Foreign Minister on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam issue, and that the Indian side had a full discussion of the matter.

On Saturday, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry welcomed the Indian Foreign Minister’s visit to Egypt during a significant period in which he witnessed a breakthrough in the historical ties that unite the two nations. He cited the formation of the joint economic committee, which occurred as the volume of trade exchange increased by 40%, and noted that the visit coincides with the passing of 75 years in the history of those ties.

In a joint press conference with the foreign minister of India, the foreign minister emphasised that the two nations have a long history of working together, whether in the non-bias movement or bilateral coordination. He also explained that the two nations share a desire to achieve development goals, noting that Egypt has recently experienced a boom in stability and work to improve the livelihood of Egyptian citizens as part of a decent life programme.

In order to advance bilateral relations at the political and economic levels and to take advantage of the capabilities between the two countries to advance in relations between the two countries, Minister Shukri noted that he had discussions with the Indian Foreign Minister about a variety of regional and international issues. He also noted that Egypt aspires to fully benefit from this relationship.
