The people of Tunisia are the owners of sovereignty and will determine their own fate, according to President Qais Saeed, who was speaking in reference to the upcoming legislative elections on December 17.
Said from the north of the country’s Bizerte Governorate declared, “I will keep using the same strategy, and we will bring pride back to Tunisia and free the state from the grasp of those attempting to interfere with the capacities of the people.
This comes in conjunction with demonstrations in the capital, Tunisia today, which was called by the Renaissance movement alongside the “National Salvation Front”, which includes a number of opposition parties, including Al -Nahda, in rejection of the elections and the path of July 25.
Against the backdrop of the country’s deteriorating social conditions, the Free Constitutional Party is conducting a march.
It is significant that these protests are a fresh cycle of ones that began months ago and failed to gain the public’s support or establish a counter-procedure to legal actions.
The opposition parties had decided to boycott the upcoming parliamentary elections, in protest against the new electoral law approved by the president, and allowed the selection of candidates on an individual basis instead of choosing party lists.
If the deputy violates and doesn’t complete his work, it is also permitted to lose faith in him.
The new constitution, which was passed in a vote held on July 25 and in which over 3 million Tunisians took part, would limit the authority of the new parliament, which will have 161 representatives.
The road map Saeed launched in July of last year, which started to organise a well-liked electronic consultation on political and constitutional reforms, has reached its last station with the impending parliamentary elections.
