Calgary family reunited after daycare loses track of son

A three-year-old boy’s brief disappearance from a daycare in southeast Calgary has prompted an inquiry by the Ministry of Children’s Services of Alberta.
Kellyanne and Ryan Whittington said they were on their way to pick up their son from Mahogany Learning Centre just before 5 p. m. on Wednesday when they got a call from the daycare saying they hadn’t seen the boy since around 2 p. m.

They hadn’t seen Remi since then, so Kellyanne said that she was inquiring if we had already picked him up or to confirm that we had done so.
Remi had worked for the police, which was fortunate for the Whittington family.
According to police, a member of the public stopped to help and discovered the youngster. The Good Samaritan contacted the police at 3:37 p.m., according to phone logs.

Ryan told Global News that because no one (from the daycare) had phoned, “Police had him in their cruiser for an hour and a half and had no idea where to bring him.”
They had no choice but to drive around looking for someone who was looking for a child. And they were unable to locate anyone who was looking for a youngster.
Owner of the daycare Christina Kang expressed shock and sincere regret for the family.
“I am the parent of a child.

I can only imagine how important each minute is, Kang said to Global News.
Remi was reported missing shortly after 4 o’clock, according to the woman, and her parents were contacted at 4:08 o’clock.
The Whittingtons, however, claimed they didn’t get a call until 4:55 p.m.
According to a statement from the Calgary Police Service, officers were notified of a small child in Mahogany by a call from a member of the public at around 3:45 p.m.

The following hour was spent by officers driving around the neighbourhood looking for the child’s parents.
Police were notified of a missing youngster from a daycare around 5:05 p.m. The child’s description and location matched, and police were able to reunite the child with their parents, the CPS statement said.
According to Children’s Services, an investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the ministry will take the necessary steps as needed.

Kellyanne declared that the daycare facility ought to be closed. There are policies in place, and they’re not adhering to them; additionally, though, they’re lying about it.
