A child was killed during the celebrations of his team winning the quarter -finals of the Jordan Cup

According to a spokesperson for the Jordanian Public Security, a 12-year-old boy passed away while he was close to the Marca roundabout in Amman, the country’s capital.
The child perished as a result of a “block” falling from the top of the building, the official continued. He said that when the deceased was taken to the hospital, an investigation was launched by the authorities.

Al -Ittihad issued a clarification statement confirming that it decided to hold the match on Friday evening in the quarter -finals of the Jordan Cup 2022 without the presence of an audience, at the request of the security authorities.

The security agencies suggested holding the game without spectators due to recent instances of hate speech and arguments between the fans of the two teams on social media.

In order to take legal action against the accounts and pages that broadcast such speeches, close them, and pursue those responsible in accordance with the law, whatever their source, the Public Security Directorate confirmed that it monitors everything that is published in this regard, from any party, through the electronic crime unit.
