The United Nations welcomes the border demarcation agreement between Lebanon and Israel

The UN welcomed the representatives of Israel and Lebanon to an agreement on the demarcation of their respective permanent borders as well as the termination of their respective maritime borders. This agreement is seen favourably by the international organisation as contributing to the stability and prosperity of the Middle East.

The spokesman added that the United Nations remains closely related to the parties and ready to continue supporting this process as required and in coordination with the United States, which Lebanon and Israel entrusted to the role of the mediator, in the maritime border case.
The spokesperson emphasised that the United Nations is one of the organisations that is most supportive of the achievement of peaceful diplomacy, particularly when issues are the cause of prolonged tension between nations.

Noting that the international organisation will comply with all requests from the parties and will assist them in any manner possible to make the agreement successful.

The boundary demarcation deal between Israel and Lebanon is welcomed by the UN.
