According to information from “Russia Today,” the Russian Ambassador to Austria, “Dmitry Leopinski,” indicated that the European Union faces a threat from a recurrence of the “Yugoslav Wars scenario” due to the entry of weapons provided to Ukraine on the illicit market.
According to Liopinsky, the European Union and its member states were given substantial amounts of weapons some months ago, contrary to the requirements of their international exports monitoring Ukraine.
Black market weapons enter the world broadly with international cooperation and may find their way into the hands of terrorists and criminals in many locations.
“There is a risk of an actual replication of the Yugoslav war script,” he continued, “when Europe as a whole was inundated with illegitimate weapons coming from the west of the Balkans. These conflicts’ heinous legacies can still be felt in this place today.
He noted that allegations of “Ukrainian weapons” being seized around the European Union, notably in Austria, are becoming more frequent.
The European Union is cautioned by the Russian ambassador to Austria not to repeat the “Yugoslav” scenario.
