According to the gasoline price announcements made by the Ministry of Energy and Water at the start of the morning trading on Thursday, October 13, 2022, the price of fuel in Lebanon has steadied.
This comes after the significant increase in the prices of gasoline and diesel, which the markets have witnessed in Lebanon during the past few days, in light of the significant increase in the prices of the US dollar, which exceeded the barrier of 30 thousand pounds per dollar, before the decrease again after the intervention of the Central Bank of Lebanon.

First, the weight of the 98 octane gasoline plate increased from 727 thousand pounds to 734 thousand pounds.
In contrast to 710 thousand pounds, 95 octane gasoline plate achieved 717 thousand pounds.
Third: As opposed to 831 thousand pounds, the diesel plate hit 850 thousand pounds.
Fourth: As opposed to 431 thousand pounds, the gas bottle achieved 434 thousand pounds.

This comes in light of a sharp decline in the Lebanese pound that started since 2019 against the dollar, coinciding with a severe liquidity crisis, and banks stopped providing depositors with their money in dollars, while the official exchange rate is still fixed at 1507 pounds.
The Central Bank of Lebanon will no longer be able to support the cost of hydrocarbons, which also happens to coincide with a 70% increase in the cost of gasoline imports from the start of the current year 2022.
