Reports: The fate of Ronaldo depends on the renewal of Messi’s contract with Paris

According to French press reports, Paris Saint-Germain, the current French league champion, plans to extend the contract of Argentine star Lionel Messi in the French capital, preventing Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo from joining the Parisian club because the Parisians do not have the financial resources to pay the salaries of the two stars.

Recent English sources said that Paris Saint-Germain is eager to get Cristiano Ronaldo and that Ronaldo is planning to leave Old Trafford as quickly as feasible.
However, the newspaper “Le Sport 10” reported that Ronaldo’s arrival can only take place after Lionel Messi’s departure for financial reasons, and this means that the move can only happen after the Messi contract ended in June 2023.

The French tabloid undervalued the significance of Ronaldo’s ties to Paris Saint-Germain when it reported that Luis Campus, the team’s director of sports, had already stated a desire to extend Lionel Messi’s contract by one or two years.
The newspaper noted that Messi was chosen by Parisians ahead of Ronaldo in 2021, and they are unlikely to change their minds now that Messi is playing at a higher level than Ronaldo this season.

Messi played in 13 games for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions, scored eight goals, and made eight key passes. Ronaldo, on the other hand, has played in 11 games for Manchester United, scored two goals, and made one decisive pass.

According to reports, Ronaldo’s future depends on whether Messi’s contract with Paris is renewed.
