In Egypt, the costs of eggs and poultry have increased in tandem, with the price of a kilo of poultry rising to 40 pounds and the cost of an egg carton exceeding 100 pounds as a result of the country’s high feed expenses.
According to the Egyptian Poultry Federation, there will be a further increase in egg costs on the local market, a delay in the flow of feed into the ports, and an increase in maize and soybean prices that will exceed 15,000 pounds each.
Al -Ittihad pointed out that the local market may witness a decline from the supply of poultry and eggs if the feed crisis continues, as it will push a large number of educators to reduce the quantities of poultry they have to reduce their losses.
On farms today, the cost of an egg dish was 75 pounds for red eggs, 72 pounds for white eggs, and 68 pounds for municipal eggs.
Abdulaziz Al-Sayed noted that many breeders killed mothers’ chickens to get out of the system permanently due to the lack of feed and to achieve losses as a result of the high prices. He attributed the increase in feed prices and the delay in customs release in the ports to the high prices of eggs in the local market.
