NATO: We continue to support Kyiv and Moscow are isolated

The Secretary-General of NATO, NATO Yenos Stoltenberg, praised that administration after the United Nations General Assembly denounced Russia for annexing four regions of Ukraine and deemed the Russian Step Illegal.
Stoltenberg stated today, Thursday, on his Twitter account that the general assembly’s support of this resolution proves that Moscow has become “isolated.”
He also stressed that the alliance continued to support the Ukrainian forces, expressing its solidarity with Kyiv.

These statements were made as the military alliance’s covert “NOS” was moving forward with its plans to conduct a nuclear exercise next week amid rising tension and anxiety over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s hints that he may use any means, including nuclear weapons, to defend the territory of his nation.

The session, which generally takes place once or twice a year at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, was presided over by the defence ministers of the member nations of the alliance.
It also came after the United Nations General Assembly approved yesterday, Wednesday, with a large majority draft resolution condemning the “illegal” annexation of Ukrainian regions after Moscow has previously used the right to veto against a similar draft resolution in the UN Security Council.

The association adopted the decision by a majority of 143 votes against five countries voted against it, but 35 countries refrained from voting, including China, India, South Africa and Pakistan, despite the great American diplomatic efforts.
Moscow demanded “immediate and unconditional decline” for its choices, while the decision asked for all UN agencies and other international organisations to refuse to accept any border adjustments that Russia declared.

It is significant that the Russian President declared in late September (2022) that Zaburigia and Khairsson (in the south) as well as the eastern Ukrainian districts of Donetsk and Lugansk were included. He also emphasised that this decision would not be changed.
