NATO begins nuclear exercises next Monday

NATO’s annual nuclear training (Stedfast Nun) will start on Monday with the participation of roughly 60 planes.
These aircraft are anticipated to conduct nuclear bomb training exercises over Europe.
These nuclear exercises, which do not include the use of any live bombs, are taking place amid escalating tension after the frequent hinting of Moscow by launching nuclear attacks on Ukrainian lands, in light of military setbacks in the war.

However, it is significant that, according to Reuters, NATO nuclear training will probably take place annually at the same time as nuclear training in Moscow under the name “Grum”.
Each year around the end of October, Russia trains by putting its launchers, submarines, and nuclear-capable missiles to the test against Moscow.
NATO said in a statement Friday that the expected alliance training is not conducted out of the last tension with Moscow.

He continued in the statement published on its website, “The training, which will extend from next Monday until October 30, is a routine, and is a frequent training activity, and not linked to any event of the current global events,” adding that it will not include the use of any live weapons.
“This training helps to maintain the security, safety, and efficacy of NATO’s nuclear deterrence.

Approximately 60 combat aircraft, including the well-known B-52, and 14 participating member nations are trained in Belgium, the statement said.
Yenos Stoltenberg, the Secretary-General of NATO, stated last Tuesday that the organisation would continue its training despite the tense situation on the international stage.
Stoltenberg added that canceling the exercises could send a “very wrong signal”, adding that the military force of the alliance is the best way to prevent any escalation of tension..

NATO’s nuclear drills start on Monday.
