Andy Murray of Great Britain defeated Pedro Cachene of Argentina on Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Gijon Open tennis tournament in Spain.
According to the British Press Agency (BA Media), Murray replicated the pattern of his match against the Spanish player Alejandro Davidovich Fukina by losing the first few games before recovering to win the next three games by scores of 2/6, 7/5, and 7/6.
“I think I played well in the second and third groups, but I fought and this is the most important part,” Murray said in a meeting after the match.
“Maybe I didn’t play as well as the first game, but I fought for the win, and that’s what matters most.”
Murray overcomes Cashin to win the match and go to the Gijon Tennis Championship quarterfinals.
