‘Little-known crown’ set for Queen Consort Camilla coronation

To prevent a global controversy, Queen Consort Camilla might be crowned with a lesser-known crown.
The 75-year-old princess is scheduled to be crowned on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London alongside her husband, King Charles. However, officials at Buckingham Palace are anxious to prevent a controversy over the contentious Koh-i-Noor diamond, which the British took from India in the 19th century.

I don’t see how the Queen Consort could wear the Koh-i-Noor diamond without it taking away from the coronation, jewellery historian, author, and host of a podcast Carol Woolton told the Daily Telegraph.
Recently, palace staff have been searching 200 years in the past to obtain a different crown for the coronation.
Wearing Queen Adelaide’s 1831 crown would be one of the possibilities available.

William IV was crowned with Queen Adelaide’s crown, which is now a part of the Royal Collection.
The 1820 Diamond Diadem, which has been worn by Queens Regnant and Consorts since Adelaide, is another option.
However, the Palace could decide to use the Queen Mother’s crown by swapping out the contentious Koh-i-Noor diamond for an other diamond with a comparable form.

The royals’ teams are reportedly “acutely attuned” to public opinion and are aware of the ongoing discussion about the diamond.
A crown including the diamond, according to a recent warning from India’s ruling party, would bring back “sad memories of the colonial past.”
“The coronation of Camilla and the usage of the crown diamond Koh-i-noor brings up unpleasant memories of the colonial past,” a party spokesperson stated.
The majority of Indians have scant memories of the repressive past.

Indians endured under numerous foreign tyrannies for five to six generations.
“Recent events, like the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Camilla’s crowning, and the use of the Koh-i-noor do take some Indians back to the era of the British Empire in India.”
The coronation will, according to the Palace’s promise, “look toward the future.”

According to a statement, “The coronation will be anchored in long-standing traditions and pageantry while reflecting the monarch’s position today and looking toward the future.”

The coronation of Queen Consort Camilla will include a “little-known crown.”
