Biden sees in the United Nations vote “a clear message” to Russia

By adopting a draught resolution on Wednesday with a resounding majority, the United Nations General Assembly, according to US President Joe Biden, delivered a “clear message” to the Kremlin. The resolution denounced Russia’s incorporation of some of Ukraine.
In a statement, Biden stated that “Russia is shattering the underpinnings of world peace and security by assaulting the basic principles of the United Nations Charter.”

He continued, “The stakes in this conflict are evident to all, and the world responded with a clear message: Russia cannot obliterate a sovereign state from the map. By using force, Russia cannot alter the borders. Russia cannot seize the lands of another country.

“The vast majority of the world – countries of each area, large and small, represent a wide spectrum of beliefs and administrations – voted today to uphold the United Nations Charter and condemn Russia’s unlawful effort to include Ukrainian regions by force,” Biden said in his remarks.

” The American president considered that “143 countries stood alongside freedom, sovereignty and land safety- and this number is even larger than the 141 countries that voted in March to condemn the Russian war against Ukraine categorically. ”
Biden brought it up “Only Belarus, North Korea, Nicaragua, and Syria made the decision to support Russia.

“The world has just demonstrated that it is more united and insistent than ever to hold Russia accountable for its transgressions,” the American president noted.

Biden interprets the UN vote as “a clear message” to Russia.
