Belarus threatens “strict reprisals” in the event of deploying nuclear weapons in Poland and neighboring countries

Vladimir Maki, the foreign minister of Belarus, stated on Friday that Minsk is considering harsh retaliation, including deploying nuclear arsenals on Poland and other neighbouring nations.
“If nuclear weapons are already deployed on the lands of the countries neighboring us, we can take more striking steps,” Maki said in an interview with the Russian newspaper “Ezvsteia”.

Maki responded that “no one can exclude anything at the present time, thus I assume our leaders addressed such alternatives” when asked if the “most comprehensive steps” included the use of nuclear weapons against Belarus.
The absence of nuclear weapons in Poland, according to Polish President André Doda Gazetta Polska, is a concern, and the question of introducing American nuclear weapons into Poland is still up for debate.
