According to the revised data, this percentage is higher than the rate of increase that analysts had predicted would be 8. 8% yearly after prices increased by 9. 4% in August of last year, although the first data suggested that prices would only climb by 9%.
Wholesale prices in Japan rose by 0. 7% last month on a monthly basis, which is also higher than 0.

2%, compared to 0. 4% in August of last year, per the updated figures.
Japanese import prices grew by 0. 2% monthly and 21% annually last month while export prices decreased by 0. 5% monthly and increased by 2. 9% yearly.
