Zakharova: The new Japanese sanctions against Russia “will not pass without an appropriate response”

According to Maria Zakharova, a spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, the “new illegal illegal” sanctions against Russia would not stand without a suitable response from Moscow.

In a press statement, the spokesperson claimed that Japan, which undoubtedly followed the Western anti-Russian line, has imposed further unilateral and unlawful restrictions against our nation, including a prohibition on importing supplies used in the manufacture of chemical weapons to Russia.

“Japan has never regretted its criminal experiences during World War II when it used bacterial and chemical weapons, under the auspices of unit 731,” she continued. Unit 731 was the unit of research and development of a chemical war and a secret biological war in the Japanese imperial army during the time of World War II.

She added that, similar to all past actions, “this unfriendly move by the administration of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, would not pass without an adequate response.”
It is notable that as a result of the government’s decision to prohibit exports of goods used in the development of chemical weapons to the Russian Federation on September 26, anti-Russian sanctions against Japan became effective on October 7.

It is noteworthy that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that he had begun a military operation against Ukrainian targets with the goal of defending the citizens of the Donbas region. This announcement led many Western and American nations to impose severe economic sanctions against Russia.

Zakharova: The fresh sanctions imposed by Japan against Russia “will not go unanswered.”
