Spain is a crucial ally and a loyal friend of the United States, according to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who made the announcement today, Wednesday.
According to a news release from Blinken, “there is a strong alliance between the United States and Spain that is evident in numerous developing economic, cultural, and educational contacts between the residents of the two nations.”
“On behalf of the government of the United States, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of Spain as they celebrate their National Day on October 12,” he concluded.
He stated his desire to enhance collaboration based on our shared principles while also seeking to build friendship and strengthen historical and cultural relations.
The US Secretary of State pointed out that he went to Spain last June to attend the NATO Summit for the year 2022 to enhance the strong partnership in promoting international peace and defending security across the Atlantic and Human Rights and increasing the economic prosperity of our countries.
The joint stance taken by the United States and Spain over the situation in Ukraine “highlights our close cooperation to protect democracy and the international order based on rules,” Blinken noted.
