Lapid: The marine demarcation agreement with Lebanon is a historical event

Israeli Prime Minister Yaire Labid stressed that “Israel will obtain 17 percent of the revenues of the Qana and Hezbollah field will not get any of the gas revenues,” noting that “the demarcation of the borders with Lebanon is a major achievement of the economy and security of Israel and we have rejected the recent Lebanese amendments. ”
Israel and Lebanon have struck a “historic agreement” regarding the delineation of the maritime borders, according to Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Wednesday.

The deal was accepted by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday before being sent to the Knesset for review.
Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said, “We are facing several security problems, including Iran and combatting terrorism.”

Karen Al-Harar, the Israeli minister of energy, thought about the deal with Lebanon that would result in economic gains after the development of gas reserves.
On the other hand, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Twitter, on Tuesday, that “his country hopes to announce the agreement on the demarcation of water borders with Israel as soon as possible, especially since the final formula of the agreement is satisfactory to Beirut.

Aoun continued, “Consultations with the Prime Minister and Speaker of Parliament will be held before we adopt a final stance on the terms of the agreement.
The Israeli and Lebanese governments at first expressed support for the draught deal, the details of which were not made public.
Broad strokes illustrating how the situation between Lebanon and Israel may appear if the agreement is successful were disclosed in a previous story by “Reuters.”

The agency stated that the agreement will only resolve the dispute over the maritime borders on the eastern end of the Mediterranean, and will not address the borders of the two wild countries that have not yet been settled.
The United Nations peacekeeping power’s headquarters are located on a steep hill that has a border that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. This was part of the American mediator’s initial proposal, which was rejected, and later amended.
