COVID-19: New Brunswick reports 3 deaths, increase in hospitalizations

In its most recent weekly report, New Brunswick listed three deaths associated with COVID-19, down from two the week before.
The province experienced a rise in hospital admissions throughout the course of the seven days ending October 8. In addition to the 19 people hospitalised due to COVID-19 problems recorded the previous week, another 27 people were hospitalised.
There are now 27 COVID-19 hospitalised patients, three of whom are in the intensive care unit.

According to public health, patients aged 70 to 89 make up the majority of COVID-19 hospitalizations.
The paper stated that “individuals who are not protected by vaccination continue to have the greatest rate of COVID-19 ICU admissions.”
The number of new PCR-confirmed cases of the virus increased from the previous week by 631 in the week ending Oct. 8. According to the province, there are currently 843 COVID-19 instances.
Rapid test results are not included in the statistics.

The province reported that the BA 5. subvariant of Omicron made up 90% of recent random sample sequencing.
144 more New Brunswickers participated in the immunisation programme against the virus for the first time. The percentage of residents who have received at least one dose in the province has already surpassed 90%. A little over 85% of locals have received at least two shots.
A third dose was given to another 250 residents of New Brunswick, making a total of 53.

8% of residents had received at least one booster shot.
In the reporting period, 2,363 people donned their aprons for a fourth time, making them the most popular second boosters. At least four doses of the vaccine have now been administered to about 22.5 percent of New Brunswickers.
