Barcelona’s thrilling 3-3 draw with its guest Inter today, Wednesday, in the fourth round of the third group competitions, left little room for optimism that it would advance to the Champions League final.
Bayern Munich overcame Victoria Plzen 4-2 in the same group competitions to increase its score to the 12th point and go to the round of 16 early two phases from the end, while Inter is second with 7 points, Barcelona is third with 4, and Victoria Plzen is fourth and last without a point total.
Even if Barcelona won, Inter must win its final two games against Bayern Munich away and Czech team Victoria Plzen at home in order to reserve the second qualification card. This is because Inter is superior in direct matches after defeating Barcelona 1-0 last Tuesday in the third round and drawing with them today with a score of 3 -3.
On the other side, if Inter slips with a defeat or a tie in its next two games against Victoria Plzen and Bayern Munich, Barcelona will need to advance to the round of 16 and win against Bayern Munich and Victoria Plzen to boost its score to 10 points.
Barcelona must receive at most two points from Inter in its remaining two games in order to be eligible for the final price.
