Saskatchewan to introduce centralized online learning for 2023 school year

As Saskatchewan implements a new centralised system for the province, online teaching and learning will appear slightly different next year.
Any kindergarten through grade 12 students will have access to a common online learning provider beginning with the 2023–24 academic year.

According to a press release from the education minister, “Our government firmly believes that the best place for students is in a classroom, but in the event that students need online learning, we want to ensure that all students will have access to high quality education regardless of where they are living.”
We’re happy to improve their experience by offering consistency, accessibility, and choice, and to best match their unique learning requirements.

The new online school in Saskatchewan will offer its pupils free education, just like traditional classroom instruction.
No matter where they live, all students who access online classes will receive a consistent, high-quality education thanks to the new centralised approach.
The statement stated that teachers would have employment chances to work for the online school this upcoming winter, regardless of where they currently teach.

According to the government, the online learning institution will primarily serve pupils from public school divisions. If they desire to provide the service, separate school divisions, the Conseil des écoles fransaskoises, and approved independent schools must submit an application to the Ministry of Education.
The Government of Saskatchewan will fund the project; the precise amount will be decided in the upcoming weeks.
This winter is when student enrollment is anticipated to begin.

Saskatchewan plans to implement centralised online education for the 2023 academic year.
