Inter prepares for Barcelona with victory over Sassuolo

Inter Milan defeated Sassuolo 2-1 on Saturday thanks to goals from Edin Dzeko, who scored his 100th and 101st goals in Serie A. In the absence of Romelu Lukaku and Joaquin Correa due to injuries, the Bosnian striker joined coach Simone Inzaghi’s team and filled their vacancy. In the 44th minute, Dzeko gave Inter the lead with a straight shot following a corner kick. After Rogerio’s cross, Sassuolo’s Davide Frazezi scored a direct goal to tie the score in the 60th minute.

The coach’s expressions summed up his team’s defense’s failure to keep an eye on the Italian player. With thirty minutes left, Lautaro Martinez headed in from the goal line, and Inter stepped up the pressure. Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Conselli then stopped a potentially damaging opportunity with his fingertips. But a minute later, Djiko’s header from a cross by replacement Henrikh Mkhitaryan found the back of the net.

Inter Milan improved to 15 points in seventh place with its fifth victory this year after suffering four setbacks.
After two triumphs in a row, Sassuolo suffered its first defeat, bringing its score to 12 points and putting it in ninth place.
The Nerazzurri are getting ready to play Barcelona on Wednesday in the Champions League’s fourth round.
