German Defense Minister: NATO must do more to protect its members from Russia

In order to defend itself from potential acts by Russia and President Vladimir Putin, NATO must do more to promote collective security, according to German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht on Saturday.
While speaking to German military stationed in Lithuania, Lambrecht stated that “the reality is that we, NATO, must do more for our common security since we cannot know how far Putin’s delusions of grandeur can stretch.”

“We heard Russian threats against Lithuania, which was enforcing European sanctions along the Kaliningrad border. These are not even close to the first threats, so we need to be cautious and ready for them.”
It said Berlin will send roughly 100 tanks and air defence systems from Slovakia and Greece to Ukraine.
