More than 20 sites on the west coast of the Malaysian state of Sabah were submerged by the torrential rains that had been falling nonstop since 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
According to Malaysia’s New Straits Times, the flooding was caused by high tides, a choked drainage system, and excessive rainfall in addition to other factors.
In Babur district, a landslide also happened close to a school, but no injuries were reported.
Nine persons from two families were rescued from Mangalore’s Kampung Mansiang district when their home flooded at around 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
Over 20 places along the western coast of Sabah, Malaysia, are affected by floods.
