Erdogan spokesman: Putin seeks a grand bargain with the West

According to a representative for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russian President Vladimir Putin is attempting to reach a significant agreement with the West.
Ibrahim Kalin told CNN that while Putin wants to make a new, significant agreement with the West that is partially related to the Ukraine, the real issue is a new agreement between Russia and the West.

“The agreements made under Presidents Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin at the end of the Cold War, according to Erdogan’s spokesman, “Moscow considers that they no longer reflect today’s Russia.”
“The global liberal order is currently facing a significant test because there is a new Russia, a new globe, and a new reality, and they want to negotiate a new deal.

The length of the Russian assault in Ukraine appears to be in question, and Kalin questioned how much damage will be done before talks get back up.
Negotiations “will probably resume at some point,” he continued.
Kalin’s remarks came a day after Erdogan and Putin spoke over the phone about recent developments in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The two presidents spoke about methods to improve Turkish-Russian relations as well as the most recent developments in the Russian-Ukrainian war, according to a joint statement released by Moscow and Ankara.
Erdogan reaffirmed to Putin, according to him, that Turkey is ready to carry out its responsibility to find a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine issue for the good of all parties.
