America and Germany are discussing preparations for the G7 and G20 meetings

The preparations for the upcoming meetings of the Group of Seven and the Group of Twenty—which will specifically address Russian military activities against Ukraine and how to deal with their effects—were addressed by phone today, Sunday, according to German government spokesperson Stephen Hebestreet.

The recent Russian annexation of Ukrainian territory, he continued, was a grave breach of the UN Charter, should be viewed as an attempt to occupy foreign nations by force, and would never be tolerated.
Both parties referred to Moscow’s latest nuclear threats as “irresponsible” and concurred that taking such action would have extremely negative effects on Russia.

Biden and Schulz emphasised that the United States and Germany will continue to steadfastly support Ukraine in its war to reclaim its sovereignty and will continue to put pressure on Russia with sanctions. Both sides noted that Russia’s refusal to accede to international demands to end hostilities is pushing the country into growing international isolation.

The Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines are being targeted for sabotage, and both sides have denounced these actions, saying that they are inappropriate and will have negative effects.

America and Germany are conversing about G7 and G20 plans.
