Real Madrid defeated Getafe 1-0 on Saturday to retake the league lead, thanks to a goal from defender Eder Militao in the opening minute.
With 22 points, Real is three points behind second-placed Barcelona, which will face Celta Vigo on Sunday.
In the third minute, Militao headed in a goal after eluding several defenders and rising high to meet a corner ball taken by his seasoned teammate Luka Modric.
Getafe is two points shy of the relegation zone in 16th place with seven points after losing its last two games.
Real Madrid’s victory over Getafe was unimpressive.
