Seven persons were killed in an explosion at a gas station in northwest Ireland, according to Irish authorities on Saturday.
According to a statement from the police, “the hunt for other victims continues.” The explosion took place on Friday afternoon at a gas station in the unincorporated community of Chrislow in County Donegal.
While many people are still missing, the explosion also resulted in the transfer of 8 persons to hospitals.
Search and rescue activities are being carried out by emergency teams from Northern Ireland and neighbouring Ireland.
The gas station building, which housed the main store and the town post office, was completely destroyed by the explosion, and nearby structures were also damaged.
