Zelensky: Last week we regained control of 29 towns and 776 km

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, stated in a video message on Friday that during their most recent offensive, Ukrainian soldiers liberated 2,434 square kilometres and 96 residential neighbourhoods in the country’s east.
Zelensky added that Kiev’s forces had taken back 776 square kilometres and 29 residential districts in the east in the previous week alone. He continued by saying that on Thursday, more over 500 square kilometres in the south were restored.

In recent days, Kiev made a second significant advancement in the northeastern Kharkiv region as well as in the southern region close to the Kherson-controlled city.
Midway through September, Zelensky declared that the first counterattack by Ukrainian forces had succeeded in retaking 6,000 square kilometres from Russian forces.

The Kyiv counter-offensive gained momentum, destabilising Russia’s military efforts, and Russian forces reported earlier on Friday that they had taken control of new territories in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine.
