The President of Belarus issues a decision to prevent the increase in commodity prices from today

Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, signed an order outlawing price hikes in his nation.
He reportedly declared at a cabinet meeting today, Thursday, that “as of the sixth of October, it is banned to make any increase in pricing. It is forbidden!” according to the official news agency “Belta.”
Added he, “not kicking off tomorrow. It will begin now.”
The directive, according President Lukashenko, 68, was made to make sure that no one took advantage of any chance to raise prices.

Those who disobey the order will be “immediately arrested and prosecuted,” he declared.
Insofar as it gained official sanction for this, Lukashenko did not fully rule out the potential of price increases in some areas in the future, if necessary.
The National Statistics Office reports that in August, Belarus’ inflation rate was 17.9%.
Prices for food skyrocketed. By the end of the year, the inflation rate could reach 19%, according to predictions made by Belarusian economists.
