The National Preparedness for Computer and Network Emergencies launches a campaign to raise awareness of cybersecurity

A security awareness programme is started by the National Center for Preparedness for Computer and Network Emergencies under the auspices of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. The initiative, which coincides with the annual global month of cybersecurity awareness in October, aims to create a culture of cybersecurity among people.

The programme comprises workshops for senior citizens and women, field and digital awareness seminars for government organisations, as well as a touring exhibition in Egyptian colleges that is organised in collaboration with the Research and Development Department. The campaign plans activities for “Cybersecurity Day for Children” in schools.

Under the slogan “Your Security, Your Responsibility,” a campaign was launched online to inform and direct people on how to safeguard their accounts and devices against online threats and cybercrime.
The National Center for Preparedness for Computer and Network Emergencies was founded in 2009 and is a part of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, which is worth mentioning.

The centre offers the assistance required to safeguard the country’s crucial information infrastructure, particularly in the financial and information and communications technology sectors. It also helps Egypt’s communications infrastructure be protected by monitoring cybersecurity, preparing for computer and network emergencies, responding to incidents, forecasting risks, and issuing early warnings of the proliferation of malware and significant attacks.

To increase public awareness of cybersecurity, the National Preparedness for Computer and Network Emergencies develops a campaign.
