The European Union imposes the eighth package of sanctions on Russia

According to the European Commission, the eighth round of sanctions on Russia, which include restricting the price of Russian oil barrels, have been authorised by the European Union.
According to a statement from the European Commission, the new package includes a restriction on imports of 7 billion euros worth of Russian items as well as a ban on exports of coal, chemicals, electronic parts for weapons, military hardware, and technical products for aviation to Russia.

The new package also forbids all business dealings with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and bars Union citizens from serving in managerial positions in Russian state-owned corporations.
A European restriction on Russians possessing digital currencies is also prohibited, as are the provision of financial services, information technology consultancy, and other business services to Russia (cryptocurrencies).

The statement claims that the European Union will impose sanctions on anybody who assist in evading the sanctions put in place against Russia.
Moscow had previously stated that it would not sell its oil to nations that support or participate in the programme, which includes putting a cap on the price of a barrel of Russian oil as the West seeks to reduce Russian tax income.
