The Arab Parliament stresses the centrality of the Palestinian cause

News from Al-Madina: The Arab Parliament emphasised the significance of concerted efforts to draw attention to and elevate the Palestinian issue in all regional and international fora in order to secure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and create an independent state.

This occurred when MPs Fahmi Al-Zaarer and Mona Al-Khalili, the newly elected members of the State of Palestine to Parliament, congratulated Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi on his election as Speaker of the Arab Parliament for a second term at the General Secretariat headquarters in Cairo.

Al-Soumi emphasised that Parliament will make every effort to grant the Palestinian people all facilities and defend their legal rights in a variety of regional and international fora, resulting in the creation of a Palestinian state, the repatriation of refugees, and the achievement of legal rights.
The State of Palestine’s representatives hailed the Arab Parliament for its crucial support of the Palestinian cause, the first and most important Arab cause.

The Houthi terrorist group’s reluctance to extend Yemen’s humanitarian cease-fire is condemned by the Arab Parliament.
The Houthi terrorist group’s reluctance to extend and broaden the humanitarian cease-fire in the Republic of Yemen, which was suggested by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen and accepted by the Yemeni government, was denounced by the Arab Parliament.

In a statement released today, the Arab Parliament emphasised the urgent need for the international community to support efforts to prolong the humanitarian cease-fire in Yemen in order to ease the tough situation that the Yemeni people are now facing.
The Houthi rebels’ unwillingness to extend the cease-fire would put regional security and stability in peril, the Arab Parliament warned.

The Arab Parliament urged the UN and other world leaders to keep working toward a political resolution to the Yemeni issue in line with the Gulf initiative and its executive structure, the recommendations of the National Dialogue Conference, and Security Council Resolution No. 2216.
