In response to these events, the security forces increased their patrols of the major thoroughfares and shut down a few of the bridges that connect the capital’s three neighbourhoods in order to keep demonstrators from reaching the presidential palace and the army headquarters in central Khartoum.

The formation of several commissions, including one for justice, the delegitimization of the Brotherhood regime, and the establishment of special courts were all mandated by the unified charter of the resistance committees. The Ministry of Finance also has jurisdiction over all government agencies, security firms, the military, and the police.
