Russia: Arrest of armed ISIS supporters who planned to blow up a bus station in Stavropol

Armed followers of the terrorist group “ISIS” who intended to blow a bus stop in the southern Russian city of Stavropol were detained, according to a source with the Russian Federal Security Service.
According to the Russian “RT Arabiya” channel’s website, the source stated that the security personnel detained the terrorists while they were getting ready for the operation and discovered ingredients for making explosive devices as well as communication tools in their possession.

The source emphasised that because the detainees are allegedly “preparing for a terrorist incident,” the probe is still ongoing.
One of the inmates confessed on camera, according to a recording released by Russian intelligence, that he planned to travel to Africa to join ISIS.
But before that, we had to conduct a terrorist operation in Stavropol, the captive said.

The Russian security agencies declared that between 2010 and the end of last year, they had prevented 200 terrorist assaults.

Armed ISIS sympathisers who intended to blow up a bus terminal in Stavropol were apprehended in Russia.
