Regina police charge 15-year-old youth with uttering threats

The staff and students of a Regina high school were the targets of threats made on social media by a 15-year-old local girl, according to Regina police.
On October 4, the Lethbridge Police Service sent a communication to the Regina Police Service informing them of a potential school shooting.
A Snapchat post from the Lethbridge Police Department featured an image of two select-fire/automatic guns and a general warning that anything might go wrong at a school.

There may have been an incident in Regina as a result of the information’s investigation. The Regina Police Service’s Technological Crimes Unit started looking into the message’s origin and sender right away. It was possible to pinpoint a suspect and their position.
On October 5, at 8:50 a.m., the School Resource Office made an arrest at the suspect’s residence. Police found that the suspect did not possess any firearms; the picture of the weapons was an internet image.

In compliance with the guidelines of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the minor cannot be identified. On Wednesday, October 5, at 2:00 pm, the youth appeared in Youth Court.
