Musk’s lawyers: Twitter rejects $44 billion takeover offer

Elon Musk’s attorneys claimed on Thursday that Twitter had rejected Tesla’s $44 billion offer to buy the social media platform, and they urged a Delaware court to halt a forthcoming trial in this matter.
In an effort to settle a drawn-out legal battle that started when Musk tried to back out of the April transaction and Twitter sued, Musk relaunched his bid to acquire the firm earlier this week.

The firm, whose shareholders voted to approve the deal, is unlikely to back out of the agreement given that Twitter sued Musk to force him to finish the acquisition when he attempted to back out four months ago.
The San Francisco-based corporation will probably ask Musk for assurances that he is sincere this time and won’t leave again.
