Musk says Pepsi will take delivery of first Tesla semi trucks in December

Elon Musk, the creator of electric vehicles, announced on Thursday that Tesla has begun producing commercial semi-electric trucks, and PepsiCo will receive its first shipments on December 1.
Musk predicted that the 8-Series truck will enter production by 2019 when he unveiled the prototype of the upcoming battery-powered semi-auto in 2017.

Musk stated that manufacturing would be postponed until next year, but the timeline has been delayed numerous times owing to a lack of parts. In August, he declared that the truck would be produced.
Musk reaffirmed in a subsequent tweet that the vehicle has a 500-mile range (805 km).
How many trucks the electric car manufacturer intends to create was not immediately known.

The vehicle is anticipated to cost $180,000, but under the US subsidy programme passed by the Senate, it may be eligible for a tax cut of up to $40,000.
Pepsi kept 100 Tesla semi-electric trucks in 2017 in an effort to cut fleet emissions and fuel costs.
The PepsiCo president stated that 10% of the company’s gas emissions are related to transportation in an interview with CNBC from last year.

The manufacturer of Mountain Dew, Coke, and Doritos chips previously declared its intention to employ the vehicles to transport goods and soft beverages to stores in addition to between manufacturing and distribution facilities.

According to Musk, Pepsi will receive the first Tesla semi truck in December.
