Messi confirms: The 2022 World Cup will be my last World Cup

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which is anticipated to take place between November 20 and December 18, will be Argentine superstar Lionel Messi’s final appearance in the World Cup finals.
The 35-year-old captain of the “Tango” national team and Paris Saint-Germain star revealed in an interview with the Argentine channel “ESBN” that this is his final World Cup.

The 164-game veteran of international competition known as “The Flea” continued, “I feel well physically, I had a really strong preparation season this year, which I could not accomplish last year, it was vital to get to where I am, in a good mental state and with a lot of Hope.”
Messi, who is currently competing in his fourth World Cup, played his first international encounter in 2005 and went on to amass 90 goals for the Argentine national team.

Messi made his debut in a match for Argentina against Hungary as a substitute in 2005. He played for two minutes before getting sent off, but he rapidly established himself in the team and went to Germany to compete in the 2006 World Cup.
Then, in addition to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he took part in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, during which Argentina reached the final.

The Argentine national team, led by coach Lionel Scaloni, has achieved 35 matches without defeat, and is likely to be one of the candidates to crown the 2022 World Cup.
In this regard, Messi said: “We are in a good condition, with a very strong and supported group, but anything can happen. ”
He added: “All matches are very difficult. The candidates are not always the ones who end up winning or going the expected path. Argentina is always a favorite because of its history and what it means.

The Lionel Scaloni-coached Argentine national team has gone 35 games without losing and is probably one of the favourites to win the 2022 World Cup.
“We are in a terrific position, with a very strong and supported group, but anything can happen,” stated Messi in this regard.
“All matches are incredibly challenging,” he continued. Sometimes the winners or those who go the predicted course are not the candidates. Argentina is a perennial favourite due to its significance and history.

The 2022 World Cup will be Messi’s final World Cup, he confirms.
