Iranian Oil Minister: Iran is becoming an energy center in the region thanks to Russian energy resources

According to Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji, the transit and exchange of oil and gas with Russia will turn Iran into a regional energy hub and present a chance for the nation to generate income.
The minister noted that “the oil and gas exchange from Russia will provide a chance for Iran to be an energy hub at the regional level and derive a lot of income from foreign currency” during his participation in the second Caspian Economic Forum.

He went on to say that Russia and Iran, both of which export gas, have excellent energy exchange relations and that his visit to Russia will result in new agreements to build facilities and invest in shared gas fields.

He said, “Fortunately, good negotiations have been conducted with this company and other companies, and these companies will invest in Iranian oil and gas fields.” He then made reference to Gazprom’s position in the global oil and gas industries and announced the joint investment in the production of liquefied natural gas and technologies related to gas facilities.

“We have also signed memorandums of understanding on the export of gas to Pakistan and the Sultanate of Oman, and an export pipeline to these two neighbouring countries will be jointly established by Iran and Russia,” he said, elaborating on the significance of cooperation between Iran and Russia in the oil and gas fields of “Perse” and “Kish.”

He continued, “Ships, ports, and docks have been outfitted to achieve this. Russia and Iran are capable of exchanging 10 million tonnes of oil and non-oil products.
