On September 17, the Wall Street Journal cited unaffiliated experts and Ukrainian officials who said that Russia has lately utilised Iranian drones to carry out a number of lethal operations in the city of Kharkiv, posing new risks for Ukrainian military personnel.
Colonel Rodion Colagin, commander of the 92nd Artillery Battalion, said that Russia had repainted the “Shah 136” suicide plane and given it the name “Granium 2.”

The Wall Street Journal claims that Kharkiv appears to be the primary Iranian drone base. where a substantial counterattack was launched by Ukrainian forces, reclaiming some of its land.
The Iranian government, which had previously denied deploying drones to Russia, did not respond to the reported incident of Iranian drones falling in Ukraine.

The first Russian drone attacks on Ukraine were noted in September, albeit they have only so far targeted the country’s southern territory, particularly the Black Sea city of Odessa.
Despite warnings from Washington, hundreds of protesters were reportedly sent by Iran to Russia.
Later, Kiev asserted that the country’s delivery of drones to Russia was the reason it had scaled back Iran’s diplomatic presence in Ukraine.

Iran criticised Kyiv’s decision, claiming that it was “based on false claims and the environment promoted by Western media” hostile to Iran.
