Google and UNESCO distribute 50,000 computers to teachers

In honour of World Teachers’ Day, UNESCO and Google have given 50,000 computers to Ukrainian teachers to aid in the delivery of remote learning. There will also be digital tool training for teachers.
The two businesses announced the creation of a significant programme of cooperation between them in order to equip instructors with 50,000 computers, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

These 10,000 computers are being delivered to instructors in the Dnipro, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions in the first batch. In the upcoming weeks, further parts of the nation will be distributed.
Additionally, UNESCO will assist Ukrainian teachers by helping them advance their pedagogical knowledge of online and hybrid learning. Google.

UNESCO is receiving assistance from org, Google’s charitable division, in the development of a set of materials and training programmes for teachers’ professional growth. These materials will centre on mental health, psychosocial support, social and emotional learning, and digital training for educators.

As part of the agreement, Google will grant access to the Chrome Education Upgrade to Ukrainian schools, allowing them to remotely configure and manage device settings. Additionally, the company will work with regional partners to train nearly 200,000 teachers across the chain of schools on digital tools. UNESCO will provide full access to all of its numerous digital educational tools in the interim.
