City defender Walker undergoes foot surgery and doubts about his World Cup qualification

Kyle Walker, a defender for Manchester City who was substituted after 41 minutes due to an injury he sustained in the rivalry game against United, underwent successful surgery, it was officially confirmed today, Thursday.
Kyle Walker underwent surgery after suffering a thigh injury in his left leg during the opening period of Manchester City’s 6-3 victory over Manchester United, according to a statement posted on the team’s website.

Added in a City statement: “A more thorough diagnosis of his ailment will be given in due course. The surgery was successful. Kyle is given a speedy recovery wish from everyone at Manchester City.”
With 20 points, Manchester City is in second position in the English Premier League, one point behind league leader Arsenal, who has 21 points.
Pep Guardiola, the head coach of Manchester City, also expressed scepticism on Kyle Walker’s chances of catching up to the England squad in the 2022 World Cup.

Walker will be out for a long due to an abdominal issue, according to Guardiola in the press conference: “I can’t say anything else; we have to talk to the doctors. He will be out for a while.”
The Spanish coach continued, “I know how important the World Cup is for the players, but honestly I don’t know now, I hope he can come back soon.”
Walker, 32, has earned 70 England caps and will have six weeks until the World Cup to make a comeback.

In Qatar, the World Cup begins on November 20 and closes on December 12.

Walker, a City defender, had foot surgery and questions whether he will qualify for the World Cup.
