Biden to Zelensky: We will not recognize Moscow’s annexation of Ukrainian regions

According to the White House, US President Joe Biden informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday that Washington will never acknowledge Russia’s takeover of Ukrainian territory.
No matter how long it takes, Biden “promised to continue backing Ukraine in its defence of itself against Russian aggression,” according to the statement.
Additionally, he affirmed that Washington would give Kiev new security assistance totaling $625 million, including HIMARS missile systems.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this cargo to the Ukrainian army contains four modern Hemars launchers in particular.
These extremely effective and potent missile launchers have also been crucial in recent Ukrainian military advancements.
32 howitzers, tens of thousands of light munitions, artillery ammunition, mine systems, and 200 armoured vehicles are among the remaining new US military aid.

Putin announced the plan to annex the areas on September 30, and the leaders of those regions signed the decrees amid a raucous celebration on Moscow’s Red Square.

The fact that this action was illegal and against international law, as well as the fact that the referendums in certain regions were held “under the pressure of the Russian occupation,” drew harsh criticism and promises from other countries that it would not have any international impact.

This move also sparked a number of queries, particularly after the Russian forces suffered a heavy blow two days prior when they lost the significant Donetsk town of Lyman and marginally retreated in several areas of Kherson.
According to the American Institute for War Studies (ISW), the Russians currently hold authority over 72% of Zaporizhia and around 80% of Kherson’s territory, including its capital city of the same name, with a modest loss over the past several years.

We won’t acknowledge Moscow’s takeover of Ukrainian areas, Biden tells Zelensky.
