Biden: Nuclear ‘Armageddon’ risk highest since 1962 crisis

According to US Vice President Joe Biden, the risk of nuclear “Armageddon” has increased to its highest level since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis as Russian officials discuss the potential use of tactical nuclear weapons in the wake of their eight-month invasion of Ukraine, which has encountered significant setbacks.

Biden claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was “not joking when he talks about the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons or biological or chemical weapons” while speaking at a fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
“Since Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis, we have not confronted the possibility of Armageddon,” continued Biden.
Additionally, Biden questioned the Russian nuclear doctrine and cautioned that the use of a tactical weapon with a smaller yield might swiftly turn into total global catastrophe.

Biden declared, “I don’t believe there is any such thing as the capacity to easily utilise a tactical weapon and not result in Armageddon.
Due to a number of tactical defeats on the battlefield, US authorities have been saying for months that Russia may unleash weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine.
However, as recently as last week, they said that they had not observed any modifications to Russia’s nuclear arsenal that would have necessitated a change in the state of alert for US nuclear weapons.

Biden: Since the 1962 crisis, the likelihood of nuclear “Armageddon” has increased.
