At least 4 killed in an explosion inside the Ministry of Interior in Kabul

It was the second bombing in less than a week in Kabul when one exploded inside the grounds of the Afghan Interior Ministry, leaving at least four people dead and 25 injured.
Abd al-Nafi Thakur, a spokesman for the interior ministry, reported that the explosion happened during afternoon prayer at a mosque connected to the ministry.

According to Thakur, who also stated that “details would be published at the completion of this probe,” there were four murders and 25 injuries.
Earlier, the Italian NGO Emergence, which runs the same-named hospital in Kabul, tweeted that it had treated 20 patients who had been hurt “after a bomb erupted in a mosque in the Ministry of Interior.”

Diane Banek, the director of the emergency hospital in Afghanistan, said in a statement that when the injured came, they claimed that a “terrorist” had carried out the attack. He continued, emphasising that it was a “terrorist attack,” saying that they had reported seeing a guy detonating an explosive device. He said that only male victims were brought to the hospital.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Taliban had a sizable presence near the explosion site and were also staffing the hospital.
