At least 30 killed in Thailand pre-school shooting

When a shooter opened fire inside a daycare centre in northeastern Thailand on Thursday, more than 30 people—mostly children—were slain, according to authorities.
According to Police Maj. Gen. Achayon Kraithong, the shooting took place in the town’s centre early in the afternoon.
He claimed that the perpetrator murdered 30 people before killing himself. He was at a loss for words.

26 deaths have so far been confirmed, including 23 youngsters, two teachers, and one police officer, according to a regional public affairs office official.
Knives were also used in the attack, according to Thai media reports, and the shooter then ran from the scene.
At least two bodies were visible in photographs lying on the center’s floor and being covered in white sheets.
There was no quick official confirmation, but some media reports identified the attacker as a former police lieutenant colonel from the area.

According to the Daily News newspaper, the attacker murdered himself along with his wife and child after fleeing the scene of the crime.
