An application for everything .. an “exciting” plan from Elon Musk after the acquisition of Twitter

A new discussion has been ignited by Elon Musk’s renewed $44 billion Twitter bid regarding what the business magnate would do with the well-known social media site if he ever acquired it.
According to a tweet from Elon Musk on Tuesday, the acquisition of Twitter is “an acceleration to create App X, which will be an app for everything.” He made no further statements.
The so-called “super applications” or “superapps” that are common in China and other areas of Asia and are made by companies like Chinese internet giant Tencent may be the subject of Musk’s allusion.

Super apps are used to refer to applications that frequently serve as one-stop shops for all of your mobile needs. For instance, you may order a taxi or meals through the app, and it simultaneously serves as a messaging and payment app. This reduces the need for many apps for various tasks.
With more than a billion users, the Chinese super app WeChat, run by Tencent, is the biggest super app in the world.

Users of WeChat have access to a variety of features, including the ability to chat others, conduct mobile banking, pay for items online or in-store by scanning a barcode, play online games, upload videos, buy online, order a cab, and much more.
In a meeting with Twitter staff in June, the Tesla CEO had expressed his admiration for WeChat, calling the service “amazing.” According to Musk, there is no international WeChat competitor.
Musk told staff, “I think there’s a tremendous possibility to make that happen.”

“In China, you primarily live on Wechat because it is very helpful for your day-to-day activities. And I believe Twitter would be a big success if we were able to accomplish that or even get close to it.”
Musk wants to increase the number of Twitter users from 237.8 million at the end of the second quarter to at least one billion.

One of the most popular features of WeChat is WeChat Pay, which allows users to send money to pals over chat or scan a barcode in a store to make a purchase. Online purchases can also be made with WeChat Pay.
According to CNBC, which was examined by Al Arabiya. net, Musk thinks integrating payments into Twitter would be a “interesting thing.”

Super applications like WeChat, however, haven’t really caught hold in Europe, the US, or other western economies.
WeChat is severely restricted in China, but Twitter is not, and Musk has previously criticised Twitter for its content modification method, which he believes has hampered free speech.

After purchasing Twitter, Elon Musk announced a “exciting” strategy that included an app for everything.
